July 24, 2018: Gary Wong W6GSW and Oliver Dully K6OLI: Mesh networking

Gary and Oliver are from the ARES Northeast District. Their talk will center around recent development in MESH networking and what can be done with this system.

Gary Wong W6GSW holds an ARRL Field Service appointment as District Emergency Coordinator for the Northeast District, Los Angeles Section of ARES. Encompassing the area from Downtown to the eastern County border, the Northeast District includes Pasadena and 30 other cities.

Through cooperative links with other groups, the Southern California MESH extends north past Santa Barbara, east to the Palm Springs area and south to the Mexican border.

Oliver Dully K6OLI is currently the Training and Education Coordinator for the ARES LAX Northeast District.  He is interested in all things amateur radio and especially in digital modes of communication. In addition to MESH, NBEMS and the many modes of Winlink, he has recently been exploring NVIS. Oliver enjoys interacting with hams from all walks of life and helping new hams find their way into the hobby.

When he is not spending time with his family or amateur radio friends Oliver works in finance.
