March 24, 2026: Dick Norton, N6AA: What’s happening at ARRL?

We have invited ARRL Southwestern Division Director Dick Norton for a return engagement.

If you have attended an ARRL convention, this will be similar to the ARRL Forums usually included there. This is also your chance to ask questions and let your Division Director know what your concerns are as a member.  Heard rumors?  Ask your questions!

Dick will also be talking about the upcoming Contesting and DX Convention in Santa Maria on April 10, 11, and 12 that he and N6TJ are running.  It is the only convention or hamfest scheduled for Southwestern California this year. See:    https://www.socalcontestclub.org/SantaMaria2026/

Dick Norton, N6AA, was first licensed in 1955 as KN2PHF.  Initially active in traffic nets and DXing, he is mostly active today on-the-air in contests. Operating in CQ WW DX Contests from all of the 40 zones has given him an opportunity to see the world and meet with amateurs from all corners of the globe.

Dick is currently ARRL Southwestern Division Director as well as president of The Southern California Contest Club.  He has spoken frequently at The Dayton Hamvention, and The International DX Convention in Visalia, to name some of his many speaking engagements.

Dick Norton, N6AA, one of the superstars of amateur radio contesting and DXing, was elected to the CQ Contest Hall of Fame in 1995. He and N5ZO are the only living hams who have operated in all 40 CQ zones.
