January 28, 2025: An open forum: Responding to the fires (Zoom only)

We all feel some sort of impact from the tragic Eaton Fire that devastated Altadena and other parts of Los Angeles County. For some, who lost so much, the time spent in conversation with old friends in the Radio Club setting could serve as something familiar in a world turned upside down. We hope it can be useful therapy.

This month, instead of the usual presenter’s talk, we will hold something like an open forum.

This is not a “far away” intellectual exercise. We, PRC (and also SPARC), are at Ground Zero.

Our theme centers around a Responding to the Fires. What was your experience? What happened? Did you use Ham Radio to assist yourself or others? Did your emergency response training seem relevant? If not, what needs to change to become relevant?

We may “guide” the questions but we will listen. The PRC board wants to benefit from your ideas and your experiences.

Both members and visitors are invited.

The meeting will be on ZOOM ONLY. This is because Kaiser Permanente are currenting using all of their conference rooms to provide R&R facilities for fire fighters and other fire-related personnel. For Zoom information, see the introductory notes at the top of the page.
