January 22, 2013: David Greenhut, N6HD: The 2012 NH8S Swains Island DXpedition


David Greenhut, N6HD, ARRL Los Angeles Section Manager, has been a radio amateur for thirty-eight years. He holds an Extra Class license. As ARRL Los Angeles Section Manager, he oversees the Section's Amateur Radio Emergency Service, National Traffic System, Technical Coordinators, Official Observers, and other field organization volunteers. His amateur interests include operating amateur radio contests, DXpeditions, and microwave communications. His recent DXpedition included Swains Island, Guatemala, Israel, and Maui, plus an excursion to East Texas.

He is a member of the American Radio Relay League, Southern California DX Club, Southern California Contest Club, Amateur Radio Emergency Service, Quarter Century Wireless Association, San Bernardino Microwave Society, CWops, and Club de Radioaficioandos de Guatemala. He has earned DXCC (DX Century Club — worked 100 countries) and WAS (Worked All States), and is a Volunteer Examiner.
