August 23, 2022: Club members: Field Day 2022, individual experiences

PLEASE NOTE: Because our meeting location is unavailable due to the COVID situation, this presentation will be webcast on the internet. See the IMPORTANT NOTE at the top of this page.

The goal of Field Day is to practice operating in less-than-optimal conditions. It's the single most popular on-the-air event. For this year's special pandemic-enabled Field Day, we did not assemble in-person for a massive group event. Instead, individual hams operated from their own locations, with individual methods of logging contacts.

Please join us on Tuesday August 23 at 7 p.m. for a Field Day 2022 recap. President Jim AA6QI will share a summary of the 35 entries by our team of clubs (PRC, JPLARC, CITARC) and our FD score history from 2002 to today. Several of the 35 entrants have alerady agreed to share their FD experience, including Jeff, WA9KFO, Ara, N6ARA, Jim and Michelle, AA6QI and KC6FSP, Colleen, KN6DOQ, Justin, KN6EJG, John, AC6VV, and other operators from W6KA and W6VIO.  Please consider sharing yours: anything from a few verbal comments to a few slides/pictures, or whatever you wish to share, such as what you learned, your challenges, what you might do differently next year.

As usual the Zoom connection will be active starting at about 6:30 p.m. for pre-meeting informal discussions and to give new attendees time to work out any bugs in the Zoom connection. The regular meeting will start at 7 p.m. The Zoom session will continue post-meeting for a freeform rag chew for as long as anyone has things to chat about.
